Durango Town Hall through different means is keen to encourage cultural diversity and wishes to provide its citizens with a wide range of cultural activities aimed at highlighting cultural themes from all over the world.The Town Hall recognises that the people living in Durango come from many different backgrounds and that the Town Hall should promote and highlight this cultural richness.>
The Culture Department offers an annual programme that aims to cover the citizens' interests and tastes giving them the chance to get involved. The activies organised are aimed at children, young people and adults: Exhibitions, Worshops, Cinema, Theatre, Music and Dance, Conferences, Themed Weeks, Street Programmes, Fairs, Fiestas and Leisure time activities…>
The following activities are among the most important to be found in the annual programme:>

- The Bombing of Durango
- The Passion
- San Fausto Fiesta
- Christmas (Olentzero, the Three Kings, Childrens' Christmas Fun Park and Ice Rink)
Durango Municipal Cultural Centre, organises on a three monthly basis a full arts programme (theatre, dance...).>
The museum's activities focus on acquiring, conserving, communicating and exhibiting for the purpose of study, education and enjoyment, It also brings together material about the town of Durango and its surroundings. It organises conferences, courses and didactic exhibitions. As well as the permanent collection the museum also organises temporary exhibitions of local, foreign, new and established artists.>
The "Bartolomé Ertzilla" Music School offers music classes to all. There is no age limit and children can start as young as four.>
Rhythm and intonation will be taught through corporal movement and popular songs, implementing a pedagogically attractive and musically efficient project. All types of musical preferences and trends are offered.>
The Durango Municipal Library is open to all. It offers a free service of information, culture and knowledge. The collection is computerised and can be consulted directly in the library or from any computer connected to Internet. A library card is required for borrowing books.>

- An Intercultural Library (Books and material in different languages and about different countries).
- A Newspaper Archive with newspapers, magazines and comics.
- Cultural Activities, workshops, etc…
- Wifi Zone and 4 computers with Internet access.
- World newspapers: the international press (printed format) can be consulted for free daily.
- Multimedia room: 16 computers with Internet connection for those using the Library (office tasks, Internet…).
- Study room.
The municipality of Durango has a pavillion which it uses for many diverse activities, to do with culture, sports, leisure and freetime. The best example of its use is the annual Basque Book and Record Fair, which takes place in December and is an important Basque cultural event.>
Throughout the year, events to do with music, culture, sport, gastronomy and local traditions, are organised by public and private entities. A wide variety of activities are offered with the aim of providing the visiting public with cultural activities for all tastes, interests and ages.>
